Scott L. With a career rooted in clean, green principles and a passion for empowering producers and consumers alike, Scott’s ingenuity and dedication create a win-win for businesses and their customers, fostering trust and transparency in the food industry.
Raised on a farm in Carlos, Minnesota, Scott’s early years in 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) instilled a deep appreciation for sustainable agriculture and community. His honorable service in the U.S. Army, where he served as NCOIC of Staff Engineers at Fort Hunter Liggett, California, until 1983, showcased his leadership in designing critical infrastructure projects, including test tracks for the Humvee and M1A1 Abrams Tank. After finishing his degree at Northern State University, Scott returned to the Black Hills of South Dakota, where he co-founded Prentice Real Estate and Builders Ltd., earning a reputation as a skilled real estate broker and designer over nine years.
As Senior Vice President and General Manager of Concorde Gaming, Inc., Scott’s innovative marketing strategies and design expertise drove the company’s expansion, including the development of the Four Bears Casino in New Town, North Dakota. His passion for sustainability led him to Deadwood, South Dakota, where he spent 15 years living in an off-grid, solar-powered mountain retreat, deepening his commitment to environmentally conscious living. This experience inspired the creation of BioChecked™, a company dedicated to certifying clean, sustainable products using ISO 17025-accredited labs.
Today, Scott leads BioChecked™ with a mission to empower humanity through rigorous certification standards, earning the trust of industry leaders like Lesaffre North America and Food For Life Baking Company. His professional journey reflects a steadfast dedication to fostering health, sustainability, and trust, ensuring producers and consumers thrive in a transparent, ethical marketplace.
